Full time: 76 or 80 hours per fortnight Duration: 12 months Salary range: $80,603-85,568 (dependent on experience)Based at 553 St Kilda RoadBe a part of the Monash and Alfred research programStaff benefits The Role The ABDR Research Officer position will provide high-quality project and research support services to facilitate the successful operations of the Australian Breast Device Registry (ABDR).
The ABDR is a clinical quality registry funded by the Australian Department of Health and Aged Care that provides long-term monitoring of implanted breast devices, including tissue expanders and meshes.
The registry provides regular reports to the Therapeutic Goods Administration as well as to participating sites and surgeons, and industry, and is part of an international community of breast device registries.
Under the guidance of the ABDR Research Fellow and the Senior Manager, Surgical Registries, the Research Officer will engage in a range of day-to-day registry activities, primarily those that support the ABDR in meeting all of its ethics and site governance requirements.
The registry is undergoing a period of transformation, which includes streamlining ethical approval to sit under an overarching Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC).
The role will involve supporting the team in bringing each and every one of the 250+ participating hospitals up-to-date with this new process.
The ABDR Research Officer will also support other registry activities, including data management, site engagement, communications and administrative assistance to governance committee and team meetings.
This position requires a good understanding of the ethics and governance requirements for research, strong organisational and administrative skills, and well developed oral and written communication skills to provide high-quality project and research support services.
Education/Qualifications Essential The appointee will have:
a degree in a health or science related field, experience and specialist expertise in registries, clinical trials, and/or project management in the healthcare setting; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/trainingKnowledge and Skills The appointee will ideally have/be:
