Our client, HumanAbility, is a not-for-profit, industry owned and led organisation that is contracted by the federal government.
It was established as a Jobs and Skills Council for the health, human services, sport & recreation and early childhood industries to fulfil the requirements of the Jobs & Skills Councils: Strengthening Australia's National Vocational Education and Training System
program.
The growing team are looking for 2x Research Officers on a fixed term contract until June 2026, to support the organisation and be at the forefront of their mission to enhance vocational education training systems.
These roles will ideally have a teaching quality/ satisfaction focus within VET, public policy or Tertiary Education.
The Research Officer will conduct research, analyse data, and provide insights to support informed decision-making and program development.
You will be someone with a high level of problem-solving and analytical skills, with an ability to produce accurate, easy to read and insightful reports and advice.
Some key responsibilities include but are not limited to: Design and conduct research and analysis to inform the development of HumanAbility's workforce plan, workforce development initiatives and annual training development plan.
Prepare research reports, summaries, and presentations for internal and external audiences that show attention to detail and the ability to write in plain English.
Communicate research findings effectively to support decision-making.
Conduct literature reviews to stay informed about industry trends and best practices.
Incorporate relevant research findings into project planning and development.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to gather insights and share research outcomes.
Foster relationships with industry experts, educators, and policymakers.
Skills And Experience
Master's degree in a relevant field with a research focus or equivalent experience is desirable.
Proven experience in VET, public policy and/or research roles.
Proficiency in research methodologies and statistical analysis tools.
High level problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to produce accurate, easy to read and insightful reports and advice.
Proven record of working effectively, both independently and as a collaborative team member.
Experience in education, adult education and student experience would be an advantage but not essential.
Demonstrated understanding and/or experience in at least one of: the national skills system, the health, human services, sport & recreation or early childhood education, aged care and disability sectors.
This is a full-time, fixed term position until 2026, located flexibly anywhere in Australia.
The role will involve travel with overnight stays for organisation meetings, stakeholder meetings, workshops, and industry events.
