NoOffer DescriptionFixed term role until November 2027 based in Charles Perkins CentreDynamic opportunity to contribute to advancing research projectsBase Salary $99,455 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe Faculty of Medicine and Health has a great opportunity for a Computational Biologist to join a clinical and laboratory research team conducting research on genetically modified cellular (CAR-T cell) immunotherapies for patients with haematologic malignancies.Working within an established computational team, the successful candidate will draw on a strong background in both computational analyses and biology to provide biological insight from high throughput multiomic datasets and identify factors that contribute to responses to cellular therapies. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and communication, to leverage the expertise of a multidisciplinary team and drive impactful research outcomes.Your key responsibilities will be to:Develop bioinformatic pipelines to process and analyse multiomic datasets and provide biological interpretation.Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, and provide intellectual input into experimental design, analysis and interpretation of data.Stay abreast of advances in computational methods and develop best practices to address key biological questions.Maintain detailed records and use version control systems.Build and maintain biological domain expertise.Prepare figures for publications and grant applications.About youA master's or PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics or Immunology, with proven experience in analysing and interpreting bulk and single cell epigenomic and transcriptomic data.Comfortable working with Unix and in a HPC environment.Proficient in R and Python.Strong background in biology. Experience in immunobiology preferred.Exhibit commitment to good quality data and understand best practices in NGS workflows.Experience in developing and maintaining bioinformatics pipelines.Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy of results.Strong problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
