DescriptionAbout the Role The Research Manager will work closely with the Medical Director and staff to manage assessment, development, and coordination of research projects across Derbarl. The position collaborates with management and staff, and external researchers to facilitate the development, assessment, resource allocations, adoption, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of Derbarl approved research projects. The position also supports the Research Sub-Committee of the Board.
Responsibilities Under the strategic direction of the Research Sub-Committee of the Derbarl board, lead and manage all research activities across Derbarl.Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain systems and processes to support Derbarl research coordination.Maintain the research project database and document filing system.In consultation with the Medical Director, manage and implement Derbal research policy and protocols.Mentor and support new Derbarl researchers, especially the training and development of Aboriginal researchers.Establish and strengthen the relationship between Derbarl and research partners and act as the key liaison between Derbarl and Research institution operational staff where relevant.Assess research project proposals according to Derbarl strategic direction and capacity, including budget, resources, and support.Act as secretariat to Derbarl Board Research Sub-Committee.Through the Medical Director, provide input/feedback on key research project documents including reports, ethics applications, and publications.Work collaboratively with Derbarl managers and staff and research institution staff to facilitate effective development and implementation of a variety of research projects across Derbarl; andConvene specific research project steering group meetings to facilitate project monitoring, review, and reporting.Provide leadership to the Research Section to ensure the effective delivery of research projects is coordinated and consistent with best practice, cultural safety standards, continued quality improvements, and within financial resourcing and research outcomes.Assist in the development of program policies, procedures, operational guidelines, and operational plans, partnership agreements, and complete funding progress reports.Participate in Clinical Services Management Group and work collaboratively across Derbarl services to implement strategic directions and initiatives.Foster a positive, high-performance workplace culture through exemplary management practices and role modeling behavior.Undertake other duties that are consistent with the position classification.Selection Criteria Tertiary degree at master's level or above in health or social sciences with a significant research component.Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication.Experience in project management and ability to maintain oversight over a broad range of projects.Strong researcher technical skills in either quantitative or qualitative research with a good understanding of both.Extensive experience designing, implementing, and evaluating research projects including input and review of ethics applications.Ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to monitor and facilitate project implementation, including managing operational relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Ability to promote knowledge transfer and provide input into research project publications.Evidence of a professional, team-oriented approach with excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills, including the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change in a high-pressure, culturally diverse environment.Ability to work independently and quickly adapt to change with excellent time management skills.Proven, strong administrative, organizational, and written communication skills.Ability and willingness to support the development and training of Aboriginal junior researchers.Satisfactory Police Clearance.How to Apply: Please apply through SEEK, applications must include:
