The Opportunity - About the Role


You'll sit within a high-performing and engaged Research team embedded within Group Investments. The team plays a pivotal role in building Stockland's reputation as a market leading, research led organisation and has a broad remit across core and alternative real estate sectors. The team is dedicated to driving cutting edge research, focusing on highly strategic insights and ensuring insights are grounded in deep, rigorous and data driven analytics. Our pursuit of data driven insights is more than numbers, it's about ensuring that it aligns with the needs and provides value for our businesses. The role involves strong critical thinking skills and the ability to connect the dots between diverse data points to simulate market dynamics and uncover insights that inform strategic recommendations across acquisitions, developments and investments. The focus will be on Australia's residential and emerging alternative sectors.


The role provides exposure to an array of strategic research projects, underpinned by an overriding objective to inform optimal development and investment outcomes and returns. And it's not just about analysis – it's about communication too. You'll be joining a team that is deeply passionate about distilling complex data into easily understandable, strategic messages that matter to our business.


Key Responsibilities Will Include


Develop houseviews, providing forward looking perspectives on market trends and forecasts
Develop and maintain financial models to stay at the forefront of market trends
Manage and execute high impact strategic research projects delivering actionable insights for a broad spectrum of stakeholders
Develop innovative thought leadership reports that not only position Stockland at the forefront of industry developments but have practical business applications
Leverage tools to interpret customised catchment dynamics using geographic structured data
Harness data and statistical tools to provide deep understanding of real estate dynamics
Present findings in a simple and actionable way


About You

A highly critical and lateral thinker who can develop research methodologies to arrive at a well-considered and independent market view
Strong ability to logically structure and communicate a thesis underpinning a view
Exceptional analytical skills and ability to interrogate data outcomes with commercial acumen
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to convey analytical findings to senior management
Familiarity with real estate, particularly residential sector, is a plus but not essential
Capabilities in advance data/ statistical tools and GIS are a plus
