Expression of Interest - WA Country Health Service Central Office This is a Fixed-Term, Full-Time (76 hours per fortnight) appointment for six months with the possibility of extension(s). Eligibility to Apply: This is a fixed term opportunity for current WA Health employees as an acting opportunity, secondment or temporary contract.
Position Profile: This position facilitates the institutional review, authorisation, and monitoring of research in WACHS in accordance with the local, state, and national guidelines.
The Research Governance Coordinator position acts as the first point of contact with researchers, Human Research Ethics Committees, WACHS regions, WA Department of Health Legal and Legislative Services, site business managers and the Executive Director of Innovation and Development, providing consultancy support and expert advice on research governance and ethics matters for research submissions. This position reviews Site Specific Assessment Forms and Health Access Request Forms in conjunction with other research project documentation, making recommendations to the WACHS Executive Delegated Authority regarding the conduct of research at WACHS sites.
Selection Criteria: A high level of research governance principles, the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, and their application to human research studies. Excellent interpersonal skills including consultation, problem solving, presentation and negotiation. Well-developed literacy and written communication skills including experience in developing reports, letters, briefings and providing written advice on complex issues. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Strong organisational skills including a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and manage competing tasks and meet deadlines.
