NoOffer DescriptionFull time fixed term 3 years at CamperdownKey Research Fellow Role in the MRFF funded ADAPT-ED trial of emergency department interventions for back painBase Salary $122,830 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityAt the Institute for Musculoskeletal Health, we bring together patients and clinicians with world leading musculoskeletal health researchers to drive global improvements in health outcomes through increased understanding and management of musculoskeletal health and physical activity.We currently have a significant Research Fellow role supporting Dr Gustavo Machado in the MRFF funded trial ADAPT-ED (adaptive trial of emergency department interventions for back pain). The trial will focus on testing multiple non-opioid treatments against the most used opioid to manage back pain.Your key responsibilities will be to:provide deep technical knowledge and project management support to the Chief Investigator and collaborate with academic and research professionals to support the group researchtravel to LHD emergency departments to implement and monitor the ADAPT-ED trialconduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research fundingdevelop research collaborations and engage in translational research that result in knowledge or technology transfer leading to commercialisation, improved policy or practice, or enhancement to industry, the profession or communitycontribute to applications for competitive research grants or funding to deliver research impactmaintain quality, standards and excellence in research activities and outputAbout youPhD in musculoskeletal health with a focus on back pain managementextensive experience in back pain research and clinical trials related to comparative effectiveness of interventions for back painproven experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activitya developing network of academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholdersproven experience supervising and mentoring HDR studentsdemonstrates experience in systematic reviews, meta-analysis, qualitative and quantitative research analysiscomputer literacy including use of data analytics software, including R and Stataprovide informal mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics and supervise postgraduate research students or projects where appropriatecontribute expertise and knowledge through communication of scholarship with industry, forums of public debate, organisation of public events, seminars, and conferencesable to travel to LHD metropolitan and/or interstate project sitesYour employment is conditional upon the completion of all role required pre-employment or background checks in terms satisfactory to the University.
