Classification: ANU Academic Level B / Academic Level C Salary package: $ 110,162 - $147,019 per annum plus 17% superannuation Terms:  Full time, Fixed term (up to 2 years) Position Overview The ANU National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research has earned national and international recognition for research excellence on Indigenous aspects of social and emotional wellbeing and racism, tobacco control, cancer and cardiovascular disease, as well as development of strength-based research methodologies, policies relating to data sovereignty, and culturally-relevant knowledge translation. Located in the National Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health (NCEPH), the National Centre for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Wellbeing Research comprises of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and non-Indigenous academic and professional staff and a vibrant study body. Staff in the centre produce high quality health and wellbeing research. Research Fellows will be uniquely placed to contribute to meaningful research directly informing programs and policies of tangible benefit to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia. The Cancer prevention program focuses on achieving elimination of cervical cancer, lung cancer screening and other initiatives including vaccination, screening and treatment for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities. Under this program are several research projects designed to work in concert in achieving elimination of cervical cancer by reducing incidence and lives lost from this almost entirely preventable cancer.  Some of these include Screen Your Way (co-designed strategies to increase screening through self collection) and INCLUDE (using linked administrative datasets to improve localised data on HPV vaccination and screening). The Cervical Cancer Elimination team is looking for a Research Fellow preferably with experience in areas of cancer epidemiology and/or prevention.
