This is an exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to act as project manager and principal engineering researcher.
This position is for up to three years appointment in the UQ School of Chemical Engineering funded by the Australian Research Council Linkage Project "Reducing direct greenhouse gas emissions from wastewater systems".
The project involves 5 Chief investigators, 6 partner investigators, and 14 research partners.
Key Responsibilities: Research:
Manage the overall project, coordinate tasks, deliverables, and reports.
Conduct data analysis, produce quality research outputs, and publish in high-quality outlets.
Contribute to knowledge transfer, including commercialisation of intellectual property, and participate in competitive funding applications.Supervision and Researcher Development:
Contribute to the effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students (as appropriate).
Demonstrate personal effectiveness in supervision and the management of researcher development.
Manage research support staff effectively throughout the project in accordance with University policy and procedures.Citizenship and Service:
Demonstrate citizenship behaviours aligned with UQ values and show self-leadership through collaboration and participation in team activities.
Provide support to academic positions during team members' absences and contribute to internal service roles and administrative processes, including decision-making and committee service.
Begin developing external links and partnerships by building relationships with industry, government, professional bodies, and the broader community.Teaching:

About YouCompletion or near completion of a PhD in chemical engineering, environmental engineering, or a related field.
Strong knowledge of urban wastewater processes and fugitive greenhouse gas emissions.
Skills in modelling and process control of biological wastewater treatment systems.
Experience with full-scale wastewater treatment plant sampling.
Ability to produce high-impact research publications and perform critical data analysis.
Effective communication skills with industry and the scientific community, and evidence of contributions to external research funding and internal service roles.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check, mandatory immunisations, etc.
