About the role We're looking for a Research Fellow to lead and contribute to research activities within the Research & Development program at Lifeblood.
This will include providing input to new project proposals whilst meeting project deadlines and collaborating with others in the implementation of research projects.
You will plan and implement projects, including collecting, analysing and managing data as well as creating and maintaining accurate records of data and results.
The primary focus for this position is research in genomics and genotyping pertaining to blood and blood groups.
In addition, the role will require assisting with dissemination & translation of the results and procedures.

Here's what we're looking for: • Doctorate of Philosophy Degree and Bachelor of Science degree (or equivalent experience) with the Doctorate studies in a field relevant for blood group genetics and genomics and/or proteomics • Evidence of understanding of the genetic basis of human blood groups is desirable • Evidence of understanding genomic technologies as well as array and/or sequence-based genotyping technologies • Ability to understand and apply bioinformatic applications required for genomic and or proteomic studies is desirable • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in communicating research outcomes • Previous experience with research presentations including conference presentations • Track record with successful management of publications in peer reviewed journals • Proficient in the analysis of technical, quantitative and/or qualitative data • Ability to work independently and in a team; working towards deadlines whilst maintaining high quality standards • Commitment to research that can be translated into practical outcomes This is a part-time (0.8 FTE), fixed-term role until the end of July 2025.
You will report into our Principal Research Fellow and will be based out of our Processing Centre in Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, QLD.
