About the RoleThe Research Fellow, Health Economics will provide health economics expertise to a range of (externally) funded projects to determine if research outputs are economically viable. This position will be expected to produce high quality research outputs. The Research Fellow, Health Economics will assist with the preparation of research proposals, and will be expected to provide input into decisions about future studies, including the sourcing of potential funds and the development of grant applications. This position may also supervise or co-super of major honours or postgraduate research project within the research area.
Your New Team – Cancer Health Services Research UnitThe Cancer Health Services Research unit is a research group embedded in the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health (MSPGH) of the Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences (MDHS), with active collaborations with the University of Melbourne Centre for Cancer Research (UMCCR) and the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre Alliance (VCCC). The Cancer Health Services Research Unit is to develop a world-class data-driven research program focussing on organisation and access to value-based cancer care as well as the translation and integration of new laboratory findings such as in the field of genomics to improved cancer health services.
Your responsibilities will include: With broad direction from the supervisor, conducting research consistent with the needs of the group and the agreed research programProducing high quality research outputsDisseminating research findings through leading peer reviewed journals and presentations at conferences and other forums where appropriateWho We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate for this role is one with a demonstrated ability to conduct quantitative research and publish outcomes in high-quality peer-reviewed journals. You should possess strong quantitative research skills, including econometrics, data analytics, and statistics. Experience in contributing to peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations is essential. Additionally, the you should have the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team to achieve project goals and meet deadlines.
