The School of Applied Psychology?currently has 50+ academic staff and multiple research fellows across three campuses (Mount Gravatt, Gold Coast and South Bank), whose teaching and research interests span counselling, suicidology, health services management, and psychology areas encompassing clinical, social, developmental, cognitive, forensic, health, organisational, and experimental domains.
Job Description The Motor Accident Insurance Commission (MAIC) Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration involves road safety collaborative projects with industry, government and other road safety stakeholders.
This role involves working as part of a team in research primarily within the domains of fleet safety and vehicles as a workplace including both light and heavy vehicles sectors along with research in motorcycle safety.
The Research Fellow role will take an active position in research utilising state of the art technology and facilities in our traffic psychology laboratory located within the School of Applied Psychology.
This opportunity is a key position within the MAIC Griffith University Road Safety Research Collaboration requiring a hands-on approach and strong industry collaboration skills.
The successful candidate will be involved in qualitative and quantitative research data collection and analysis, conduct experimental research using driving simulation, eye tracking and Hexoskin and milestone deliverables.
This is a full time, fixed term (3 years) position.
The role is based at Griffith University Mt Gravatt campus; however, the successful candidate will be expected to do some teaching and/or other work as directed at other Griffith University campuses.
It is expected that the successful candidate will be available to attend campus in person as a normal requirement of the role.
Griffith University's campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.
Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Research Fellow 1 range $86,526 - $101,354 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $101,235 - $118,584 per annum.

You will also have: The occupant of this position will hold a PhD or equivalent qualifications and work experience in psychology, or a similar field.
Experience in road safety research, skills in research project management, data analysis and associated software.
Knowledge of relevant vehicles as a workplace and road safety legislation.
