Job Description We are seeking a passionate Research Fellow (Grade 1) – Exercise Physiologist who will coordinate and contribute to a research trial with mental health services and organisations.
Within this role you will work with Doctor Justin Chapman within the Centre for Mental Health in Professor Amanda Wheeler's research group.
The Research Fellow will work on a project that is a clinical trial of exercise for people with severe mental illness.
You will be accountable for day-to-day operations including resourcing, scheduling, prioritisation, task coordination within a team context, as well as reporting and delivering objectives and deliverables within agreed time frames and budgets.
What we can offer This is a fixed term (2 year appointment), part-time position (0.8FTE) and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus.
As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.
Salary Range The full time equivalent base salary will be Academic Level RF1 range $86,526 - $90,775 per annum + 17% superannuation.
The total FTE package will be in the range $101,235 - $106,206 per annum.

To be successful in this role, you will be an Accredited Exercise Physiologist registered with Exercise and Sports Science Australia.
In addition to this, you will have: Demonstrated skills in delivering exercise programs for people with severe mental illness and co-occurring medical conditions within a clinical trial.
A strong research track record evidenced by first-authored publications in high quality journals, and conference presentations.
Experience working independently and in a team, with excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Experience in graduate student supervision is also desirable.
A high level of scientific literacy, as well as verbal and written communication.
