Fixed Term, part time appointment (to 30 June 2026, 0.6 FTE, 21 hours per week)Level B: $114,572 - $132,315 (pro-rata) + 17% SuperannuationThe position is based at the UOW Innovation Campus, remote working will be considered in line with UOW policies and business needs.We're seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Research Fellow to join the Palliative Care Outcomes Collaboration, and work within an innovative Applied Statistics in Health team.
This is a pivotal research and governance role supporting the PCOC team to deliver robust national data and a strong research agenda to strengthen and improve palliative care.
As a Research Fellow in Clinical Epidemiology, you will contribute to PCOC research activities using a large national dataset of patient and carer outcomes.
Your responsibilities will include research design using appropriate quantitative methodologies, design of validation studies, managing research data, conducting data analysis, and preparing research outputs.
You will also coordinate the research and quality improvement data request process, drawing on the expertise of academic and clinical staff to ensure timely access to data.
To be successful in this role, you will hold a PhD (or be near completion) in Clinical Epidemiology or a closely related field.
You should demonstrate a developing research profile in epidemiology, health services, or outcomes research, along with strong data analysis skills, particularly with large linked and/or longitudinal datasets.
Experience with hospital administrative datasets using R and SAS is preferred.
A high level of oral and written communication skills, strong interpersonal abilities, and an understanding of the Australian healthcare system and current health policy developments are essential.
