Base salary will be in the range $110,365.29 - $130,765.78 + 17% Superannuation (Academic Level B)
Based at our St Lucia Campus
About This Opportunity This is an exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to join the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH) to deliver a health economics project as part of the ARC Research Hub for Advanced Manufacture of Targeted Radiopharmaceuticals (AMTAR).
The Centre applies economics and business thinking to inform decisions for better health outcomes. Through priority-led research and thought leadership, CBEH researchers analyse critical issues and influence improvements across the range of settings in which health is produced. CBEH generates and disseminates credible new knowledge based on peer-reviewed science.
AMTAR is funded through the Australian Research Council Industrial Transformation Research Hub scheme. It aims to develop new technologies and establish a platform for smart-design, manufacture and quality assurance of targeted radiopharmaceuticals.
The successful candidate will work closely with industry and academic partners to apply translational health economic principles to improve patient access to value-based radiopharmaceuticals.
Key responsibilities include: 1. Research Develop an independent and/or team research program to achieve national recognition and impact in the research area.
Produce quality research outputs consistent with discipline norms by publishing or exhibiting in national research journals and other appropriate refereed publications.
Participate in applications for competitive research funding to support projects and activities, including actively seeking, obtaining and managing research funding.
Work with colleagues in the development of joint research projects and applications for competitive funding support.
Contribute to the transfer of knowledge, technology and practices to research end users through translation, including commercialisation of UQ intellectual property.
Review and draw upon best practice research methodologies.
2. Supervision and Researcher Development Demonstrate effective supervision of Honours and Higher Degree by Research students.
Facilitate engagement opportunities for Higher Degree by Research supervisees.
Manage staff effectively throughout the employee lifecycle in accordance with University policy and procedures.
Work to promptly resolve conflict and grievances when they arise.

About You Completion of a PhD in health economics, in a discipline related to health, or in another related field.
Demonstrated ability to conduct economic evaluations alongside clinical trials and using decision modelling.
A developing reputation and track record of publications in reputed refereed journals.
Evidence of successfully seeking external research funding.
Experience in meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with active contributions to external activities.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia, criminal check, education check.
