You will manage and develop the facility to ensure continuous uninterrupted operation.The opportunityAs a Research Facility Manager you will:Manage Bribie Island Research Centre to ensure delivery of an effective and safe work environment, including oversight of after-hours and weekend security and duties.Develop and implement business plans to ensure appropriate and timely provision of resources and services and facilities to ensure continuous uninterrupted operation to support research, development and extension activities at BIRC (Bribie Island Research Centre).Develop and implement a risk management program to comply with statutory and corporate compliance obligations including WH&S, environmental, pest and waste management, Fire Safety, emergency management.Manage the operations, service, repair and maintenance of asset resources including mechanical plant, machinery and equipment and built infrastructure.Develop and manage financial and other resources in compliance with public finance standards; including development of annual budgets, operational plans and regular progress reports.Continually develop and take responsibility for professional competencies of self and staff (where appropriate) through performance development agreements and dedicated career development training programs.Establish and enhance networks and consultative relationships to foster good working relationships with key stakeholders.Lead and manage the team to develop harmonious relationships in an environment where work excellence, integrity, diligence, cooperation, innovation, effectiveness and efficiency and inclusiveness are standard behavior to provide exceptional service to internal and external clients.What we are looking for (qualifications, registrations, experience)You must possess a:A Diploma/Associate Diploma in Aquaculture, Applied Science, Agriculture, Horticulture from a recognised tertiary institution or equivalent qualifications in a field relevant to the position.For international qualifications, the applicant will need their qualification assessed, to determine comparability with the Australian Qualifications Framework. The Department of Employment, Small Business and Training can assist with these assessments for Queensland residents.You may also have:Practical experience in managing a research facility is highly desirable.Experience in Aquaculture is highly desirable.You will have a keen eye for detail, great time management and effective problem-solving skills.
