(HEO6) $86,360 - $93,285 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.Fixed-term full time contract until 31 December 2025Research Services provides professional staff support services to the University's Research community in relation to competitive research funding/grant opportunities, research grant administration, applications and awards, research ethics, compliance and integrity management, research contract management and research related reporting and collections such as the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA), and general and strategic advice to researchers and research leaders.The Research Ethics and Compliance Officer, part of the Research Services Office of Research Ethics, Compliance, and Integrity (ORECI), is responsible for providing administrative support related to the University's human research ethics, animal research ethics, and biosafety compliance applications.In this role, you will manage various aspects of research ethics, biosafety, and compliance application processes. This includes offering administrative support to the University's research ethics and compliance committees, handling the collection and submission of necessary reports to statutory bodies on behalf of the committees, maintaining and managing relevant records, contributing to the enhancement of ethics processes, website, and information systems, and addressing both internal and external inquiries. This position operates under general guidance.To be successful you will need: Understanding of the University sector and of related structures and processes in a research-oriented field.Demonstrated experience providing high-level administrative support, including servicing committees and taking minutes.Demonstrated capacity to evaluate and interpret complex rules, policies and procedures.Demonstrated reliability in dealing with sensitive and confidential matters.Ability to use initiative and judgement, instigate and undertake tasks with minimum supervision and work effectively both independently and as a team member.Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritise competing demands and maintain work accuracy and attention to detail in a pressured environment.High level interpersonal and written communication skills with experience in delivering a professional, client focused service to a range of stakeholders and providing advice.Demonstrated proficiency in software applications including database packages and the ability to adapt quickly to changing IT environments. Desirable9. Experience in ethics and compliance administration. Qualifications: Degree qualification(s) in an appropriate field with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
