**What's the role?
** This is a contract role starting in **February 2025** until **April 2026** .
The **Research Director** will support the delivery of News Corp Australia's research and insights agenda, including: + Execute best-in-class research projects across a wide range of topics that reflect the diverse interests of the audience of Australia's largest news media brand including, but not limited to, media consumption, sport, politics, financial services and economic, FMCG, real estate, automotive, food and beverages and more.
+ Design, conduct and deliver quantitative and qualitative research yourself, and through partnering with external agencies.
+ Reporting to the Head of Research, with a Research Manager reporting to you.
+ Ensure research projects deliver robust commercially-oriented insights that enable other business units in their decision-making and strategic planning.
+ Support the development of a best-in-class research capability within the Growth Intelligence Centre research team, with a focus on continuous improvement.
+ Deliver insights with influential storytelling and strategic foresight to support insights based decision making.
+ Model desired leadership behaviours to inspire and motivate fellow team members and contribute towards a customer-centric environment.
**Who are you?
** + Over 8 years of experience in market research or insights roles, with a proven track record as a Research Director, or a Senior Manager/Research Manager ready for career advancement.
+ Expertise in designing, conducting, and executing quantitative research studies to support strategic decision-making across various business units, including market sizing and macro-economic research using third-party sources like IBISWorld, WARC, ABS, and RBA.
+ Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively present research findings to senior stakeholders and clients.
+ Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis tools such as Q or SPSS, with strong Excel skills for complex data manipulation and experience using quant research tools and knowledge platforms.
+ Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to build and maintain relationships, distill complex information into actionable insights, and collaborate effectively across business units and organizational levels.
A research/strategy agency background is preferred.
