About Our Team: The Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) in Western Australia provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years following a holistic and patient-centred approach. Touchstone is a specialist structured day program for young people aged 12 to 17 years and their families. The program is designed to support young people with emerging personality disorders, struggling to cope with relationships, mood difficulties, and impulsive-harming behaviours. At the centre of the Touchstone program is an evidence-based intervention called Mentalisation Based Therapy (MBT) that focuses on supporting young people and their families to increase their capacity to better understand the link between feelings and behaviours and how they impact their daily lives. Our diverse, multi-disciplinary team includes psychology, social work, occupational therapy, nursing, education, medical and psychiatry teams, and liaises with private and public sector youth and adult health providers. Our robust research program is a key component to continuous improvement of our services, together with consumer engagement, and parent focused education and support. About the Role: As Research Coordinator you will be responsible for initiating, developing, conducting, and evaluating research within the services of Touchstone and provide consultancy and education to clinicians involved in the research. You will lead the development and management of a comprehensive research program for Touchstone projects including conducting long-term studies, creating partnerships with other centres nationally and internationally, developing, and implementing policy frameworks, guidelines, and standards for clinical research projects and activities, and regularly providing clear analysis and reports of research findings through presentations and publications. Your responsibilities will include: Strategic and effective relationship development with key stakeholders including the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) ethics and governance office to develop, co-ordinate and promote strategies to enhance clinical research practices in CAMHS. Establishing the baseline analysis for the program, defining outcomes and developing Key Performance Indicators with clear measurement processes to measure outcomes and program achievements against the baseline. Contributing to the development of an integrated reporting system for the management of outcomes relevant to clinical research programs. About our CAMHS Directorates Community CAMHS – Community CAMHS offers mental health assessment and multidisciplinary intervention for children and young people up to the age of 18 years. Specialist Services and Day Programs – The Specialist Services and Day Programs consists of Complex Attention and Hyperactivity Disorder Service, Multisystemic Therapy, Pathways and Touchstone. These programs support children and young people who have complex mental health needs. Acute CAMHS – Acute CAMHS, based at Perth Children's Hospital has a mental health inpatient unit (Ward 5A), Paediatric Consultation Liaison, Eating Disorder Service and Gender Diversity Service.
