Research Associate / Postdoctoral / or Research Fellow in Freshwater Ecology The role Full Time – Fixed Term (up to 5 years) Level A – $77,714 to $105,053 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation) Level B - $110,525 to $131,034 p.a. (plus 17% superannuation) The Murrumbidgee Monitoring, Evaluation and Research Team (MER) is seeking a passionate and dedicated researcher to join our collaborative research team. This role involves conducting innovative research to support the objectives of the Murrumbidgee MER Program, which focuses on evaluating the role of environmental water in supporting nationally important ecosystems and understanding hydrology-ecosystem relationships to inform biodiversity conservation management.
This role offers extensive opportunities for professional growth, including leading your own research program, supervising Higher Research Degree students, and developing externally funded research projects. You'll also have access to significant long-term datasets to support your research.
You will engage with a wide network of stakeholders, including universities, government agencies, industry partners, and regional communities. This engagement ensures that your research has real-world applications and contributes to evidence-based decision-making and policy development.
This position requires regular travel within the region. Candidates should be prepared for frequent travel to various locations as part of their job responsibilities. The preferred job location for this role is Albury-Wodonga; however, applications are encouraged from those residing within the immediate footprint and reasonable proximity to the campus.
The position is expected to commence in early 2025.
