The Research Associate will undertake collaborative and self-directed research on an ARC-funded Laureate Fellow Project. This project lies at the intersection of algebra, geometry, and analysis. Broadly, the goal is the development of an analytic foundation for hypoelliptic Laplacians and related operators. Initial investigations will focus on compact Lie groups, with further work looking at general reductive Lie groups, and finally investigating Fourier analysis in the generalised setting of noncommutative integration and von Neumann algebras.
