Focus on developing cutting-edge data encryption techniques to protect unstructured data across the entire data lifecycle$88,290 -$117,718+ 17% superannuation (*minimum $110,059 with PhD)Full-time (35 hours week), fixed term contract to 31 December 2026Based in Sydney, AustraliaWhy Your Role Matters: In partnership with the University of Adelaide, the University of New South Wales & UNSW Canberra, 50+ Industry Partners and supported by the Australian Government, the $240 million Defence Trailblazer for Concept to Sovereign Capability will support defence-focussed innovation, skill the workforce of the future and play a leading role in accelerating the delivery of sovereign capabilities for the nation's security and prosperity...at-speed and at-scale.
Reporting to Professor Salil Kanhere, you'll work closely with a team of distinguished experts from UNSW Sydney and an industry partner on a Defence Trailblazer project titled "Resilience of Supply Chain Unstructured Data". The purpose of the project is to develop software to encrypt and control the many different data file formats circulating within the Defence supply chains. The outcome is an encryption software suite that can protect sensitive information across the entire Defence supply chain. This position will give you the opportunity to develop your research skills and output across contributing to the writing of scientific papers for international venues, participating in conferences and workshops, and actively engaging with industry partners.
