Our research is inventive and adventurous, and we create new knowledge that is central to global economic and social prosperity.Core ResponsibilitiesLevel ARASUndertake research under limited supervision to achieve project grant outcomes; i.e. synthesis and engineering of polymer biomaterialsDesign and perform a range of experimentsPrepare or contribute to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papersUndertake administrative duties associated with relevant research projects, as requiredLevel BRFConduct high-quality research projects independently or under limited supervision, in collaboration with stakeholdersDesign, perform and record experimental workCommunicate research outcomes in both verbal and written form including presentations and reports to the research teamEnsure delivery of project's research milestones, objectives and work programs are met on time, within budget and to the industry partner's satisfactionDevelop a record of independent research that results in high-quality publicationsMake significant contributions to refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the researchEssential Skills and ExperienceLevel ARASA postgraduate qualification in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area, or at least 2 years experience working as a researcher. Evidence of high-quality research output commensurate with the length of research career, which is published and presented in appropriate forumsExcellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications, and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues, and studentsAbility to plan and execute testing and research with stakeholdersAbility to work effectively both independently and as part of a research teamLevel BRFDemonstrated research productivity as a postdoctoral researcher, with experience relevant to at least one research strandEvidence of participation in external activities such as industry or community engagement relevant to the field of researchRecord of independent research resulting in high-quality publications and evidence of growing citation impactGrowing profile in research supervision and leadershipAbility to maintain strong links with relevant industry, business, and community bodiesCultureAt the University of South Australia, we value workplace diversity and are committed to providing a supportive, inclusive, and respectful work environment for all people.
