What You'll Do We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant (Mycology) to contribute to innovative genetic, genomic and ecological research.
You'll work with fungi specimens, plant roots, and environmental samples, ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing reports, supporting publications and grant applications. Managing laboratory operations and providing expert advice. Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to conduct impactful research. Ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. What You'll Bring The successful candidate will have an Honours or Master's degree in biological or environmental sciences (or equivalent) and at least two years of technical experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
Expertise in generating and analysing molecular data. A sound understanding of molecular methods and relevant scientific literature. Experience with fungal culturing, taxonomy, and ecology (highly desirable). Proven ability to support high-quality laboratory research and plan research projects. Strong knowledge of standard research techniques, OH&S requirements, and excellent organisational skills. Exceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
