What You'll Do We are seeking an experienced Research Assistant (Mycology) to contribute to innovative genetic, genomic, and ecological research.
You'll work with fungi specimens, plant roots, and environmental samples, ensuring high-quality data collection and analysis.

What You'll Bring The successful candidate will be a dedicated and experienced professional with an Honours or Master's degree in biological or environmental sciences (or equivalent) and at least two years of technical experience.
The ideal candidate will have:
Expertise in generating and analysing molecular dataA sound understanding of molecular methodsFamiliarity with relevant scientific literatureExperience with fungal culturing, taxonomy, and ecology (highly desirable)Proven ability to support high-quality laboratory researchStrong knowledge of standard research techniques, OH&S requirementsExcellent organisational skillsAbility to manage diverse tasks and meet deadlinesExceptional interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skillsAll other key selection criteria can be found in the position description located under the attachments heading on the Victorian Government Careers website.
