About the Role
Reporting to the Dean of Research, you will contribute to the research efforts of UniSA STEM, and in particular will undertake research on the project titled "Flame-Retarding and Mechanically Resilient Elastomer Composites" via a Collaboration Agreement through the Australian Research Council.
You will undertake research to achieve project grant outcomes such as analysing the structure and properties of nanosheets and nanoparticles in elastomer composites.
Using your expertise in cryo-microtoming, TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), XRD (X-ray Diffraction), and XPS (X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy), you will significantly contribute to advancing the project's objectives.
Core Responsibilities
Undertake research under limited supervision to achieve project grant outcomes; i.e.
analysing the structure and properties of nanosheets and nanoparticles in elastomer composites.
Design and perform a range of experiments including appropriate controls to achieve planned research outcomes.
Assist in preparing or contributing to the preparation of refereed journal publications, conference and seminar papers arising from the research.
Under direction from the Professorial Lead, provide advice to post graduate students in the appointee's area of expertise.
Undertake administrative duties associated with relevant research projects, as required from time to time.
Essential Skills and Experience
A bachelor degree in an appropriate Science or Engineering area relevant to the research area.
Evidence of high quality research output commensurate with the length of research career, which is published and presented in appropriate forums.
Excellent written and oral communication skills demonstrated through written work such as research reports, research publications and educational materials, and through effective liaison with external partners, colleagues and students.
Ability to plan and execute testing and research with stakeholders.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a research team.
