Be challenged and imagine with us As a Research Assistant (RA), you will play a crucial role in supporting a variety of research initiatives focused on developing innovative treatment approaches for high-risk childhood, adolescent and young adult cancers. Your responsibilities will include monitoring, treating, and managing key components essential to the research endeavours of the Cancer Signalling Research Group.
In addition to these tasks, you will have the opportunity to participate in conducting or assisting with experiments both in laboratory settings and in controlled environments. This may involve engaging in in vitro and in vivo studies, as well as conducting proteomic, immunological, and biochemical analyses. Furthermore, you will collaborate with fellow researchers and students to facilitate the progress of their projects and contribute to the overall administrative and logistical needs of the team.
This fixed term position is full time at a HEW 5 Higher Education Level and will be based at Callaghan Campus (Awabakal and Worimi land), and at the Hunter Medical Research Institute New Lambton Heights.

About the Unit This position will be based at the Callaghan campus at the University of Newcastle but may also be able to work at the HMRI. The employee will work as part of the Cancer Signalling Research Group in the School of Biomedical Sciences and Pharmacy, where they will be assisting the group leader, Prof Matt Dun and other researchers or students in their work/studies. The group aim to understand high risk, poorly survived cancers, and develop or find therapies that improve survival.
