Company Description Every institution values excellence.What matters most is why.Griffith was created to be a different type of university.You'll find we're about leading research, academic excellence, and the transformative power of education.But what sets us apart is why those things matter and how you'll achieve them.Why?Griffith brings together exceptional minds like yours from across the globe and from all walks of life.Here, we do incredible work, questioning and challenging, always in the pursuit of excellence.Job Description The Griffith Institute for Drug Discovery (GRIDD) is a Griffith University research institute with a focus on early stage and pre-clinical drug discovery.GRIDD's aim is to utilise its unique resources, dedicated researchers and international partnerships to drive the discovery and development of revolutionary new treatments to improve human health and wellbeing.The Research Assistant role involves providing substantial support for laboratory-based research under the guidance of project leaders funded by an NHMRC Ideas grant (Andrews and Skinner-Adams).Responsibilities include laboratory research and data analysis, administrative tasks for the grant leaders, as well as supporting research group activities, managing the laboratory, and providing training within the laboratory setting.As a Research Assistant you'll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change.Here's how you'll make it matter: Conduct laboratory experiments and research for an NHMRC Ideas grant focusing on the mechanism of action of a malaria drug.Assist in research tasks including data generation, collection, storage, preliminary data analysis, and drafting reports and scholarly articles according to research protocols.Perform literature searches and scientific testing; Research Assistants may contribute to designing data collection, scientific tests, and data analysis.Coordinate meetings with researchers and external participants as needed, while also supporting and occasionally leading research group activities, laboratory management, and training.About you What matters most is your drive to create a brighter future that benefits all.Through our core principles of excellence, ethics and engagement, you'll thrive on seeing the direct and lasting impact you'll have on every community and every future.You will also have: Bachelor Degree (Grade 1), Bachelors Degree with Honours (Grade 2);
