The Research Assistant History Project is a fixed term two-year contract role to support the research activities for the Government House history project – a new initiative which will look to understand the social and architectural history of Government House.
The Research Assistant will be critical in supporting the project's Editors in the identification and evaluation of a range of source material, summarising and synthesising information writing and editing text, proofreading and fact-checking to ensure information is accurate and relevant.
The Research Assistant will be required to monitor the progress of the project under the direction of the Project Editors and Steering Committee.
Duties Support the research activities for the Government House history project – a new initiative which will look to understand the social and architectural history of Government House. Support the project's Editors in the identification and evaluation of a range of source material, summarise and synthesise information, write and edit text, proofread and fact-check; and ensure information is accurate and relevant. Support the authors engaged in the project, in their research requirements. Contribute to the archival processes and records of the Office of the Governor.  Monitor the progress of the project under the direction of the Project Editors and Steering Committee. Undertake other duties as required and contribute collaboratively with other members of the Office of the Governor to provide surge support and resources to other areas of the Office. Establish and maintain effective working relationships and ongoing communication with project stakeholders both internal and external to the Office of the Governor, in line with the Office's values. Other duties as required. A higher education in a relevant discipline is desirable, but not mandatory.
