Part-time Research Assistant Opportunity Position: Part – time (0.5) FTE, fixed term for 12 months
Base Salary: From $86,511 (pro-rata) + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity:
Dr Nicholas Fancourt is looking for an enthusiastic Research Assistant to join his research team on Global Child Pneumonia, based at Westmead Hospital.
The Research Assistant contributes to an expanding research portfolio, including the development of research protocols and driving the execution of research activities.
They streamline grant application processes, provide vital research-related advice, and manage data analysis.
They also collaborate with researchers and stakeholders to ensure a seamless flow of research documentation.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Contribute to the design and development of research protocols, ensuring timely execution of research activities.
Coordinate and submit grant applications, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
Provide guidance on research regulations, policies, and procedures, ensuring projects align with standards.
Assist with data collection and analysis, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
Collaborate with researchers, clinical specialists, and affiliated partners to share findings and progress.
Manage the documentation process for research publications, from drafting to submission, and maintain comprehensive research records.
Facilitate ongoing communication with a broad range of stakeholders, proactively addressing any concerns and collaborating with team members to continuously improve stakeholder relations.
Undertake ad-hoc projects and other activities.
About you:
Strong interest in global health and infectious diseases.
Experience working in people management, including managing staff performance and development.
Experience in coordinating and/or managing grant application processes.
Experience working in a research-intensive environment.
Experience managing, reporting, and disseminating research data.
Strong problem-solving skills paired with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
