The role is available on a casual basis (0.4 FTE), at pay-level G06.1, for 12 months (with opportunity for extension), starting immediately.The role is situated within a dynamic team and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues at leading universities and institutions across Australia.
The project is focused on implementing a community-based mental wellbeing and disaster preparedness program in natural hazard-prone rural communities in Western Australia.
The role will critically contribute to rural health, disaster preparedness, and to protecting mental health and wellbeing in the face of climate change.In this role you will, but are not limited to:Regional site visitsCommunity engagement at local sitesOrganising site activities in WAAssisting with data collection in WALiaising with local community connectors and data collectorsSupporting local advisory groupsContributing to data analysis and publicationsInterview transcriptionSupporting roll out of community plans across local sitesProviding assistance organising community events with local connectorsAssisting with developing content for website and social mediaAttending quarterly project meetingsLocated at Curtin Bentley, the successful applicant will work with an interdisciplinary team at the Curtin University School of Population Health.To learn more about this opportunity, please contact Wavne Rikkers, Program Manager, Curtin School of Population Health via us!To apply, please include a cover letter (1-2 pages) addressing the selection criteria (noted below) and your CV to allow us to assess your suitability for this role.Tertiary qualified, preferably in health, humanities or social sciences.An understanding of mental health and health services.Experience in relevant scientific/research methods, techniques and analyses.Ability to work independently and use initiative in problem solving.Highly effective verbal and written communication skills.Demonstrated ability to work autonomously as well as effectively as part of a team.DesirableCurrent driver's licenseAny knowledge of, or experience in, mental health, rural health or clinical psychology or experience in clinical trials will be an advantage.Applications close: Wednesday, 5th February 2025.
