MCRI Stem Cell Medicine invites talented individuals to join our newly established 'Functional Phosphoproteomics Lab' as a Research Assistant (Computer Scientist).
The opportunity:
As a Research Assistant, you will be a vital contributor to the computational activities of our innovative research group.
Your role will involve developing and maintaining pipelines for the continuous analysis of large-scale proteomics datasets.
These datasets are at the forefront of our efforts in stem cell models of human disease, and you'll be instrumental in shaping the future of biological data analysis and visualisation.
This position opens the door to a world of multidisciplinary, collaborative projects, providing you with a unique opportunity to influence the development and implementation of cutting-edge tools for the analysis and visualization of biological datasets.
Your new team:
Your responsibilities include:
Collaborate on the development of open-source tools using Python or R Work on the development of machine learning-based tools for data processing and web-based tools for data visualization Manage large proteomics datasets produced by the group Develop hands-on experience in best practices in software engineering, including version control with Git and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines Implement bioinformatics pipelines and resources for use by group members About you:
Appropriate level of expertise gained from a combination of experience, training, or professional accreditation Proficiency in Python, R, web development, and data visualization Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and bash scripting A strong interest in software development and machine learning What's in it for you?
