Full time, fixed term for 12 months Exciting opportunity to be a Research Assistant with the School of Medical Sciences Base Salary from $86,511 + 17% superannuation About the opportunity The School of Medical Sciences is recognised as one of the leading centres for medical science education in the world. Our team of researchers lead key internationally competitive research from molecules to medicines, from patient to policy across a range of therapeutic areas.
The Research Assistant contributes to research activities including conducting clinical neurological research and performing laboratory-based assays. The role will support research via development of research protocols and driving the execution of research activities. The role includes data acquisition, clinical studies, sample processing and assay protocol development, data management, data analysis and research management and reporting.
Your key responsibilities will be to: Assist with clinical data collection, ensuring data quality and accuracy, including clinical neurological and neurophysiological assessments.
Contribute to participant recruitment and data management, research protocol development, ensuring timely execution of research activities.
Assist with blood sample processing and sample management, as well as development of new laboratory assay protocols.
Contribute to data analysis and interpretation, write-up and publications.
Contribute to research reporting, management, ethical and governance applications and reporting and other research administration tasks.
Undertake other duties appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
Excellent research management skills and experience working in a clinical research setting.
Experience in research, data capture and analytical skills, and ability to draw clear conclusions and recommendations from complex data and information sources.
Demonstrated laboratory research experience or willingness to learn.
Strong problem-solving skills paired with the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
