The OpportunityAre you passionate about advancing epilepsy research and improving patient outcomes?We are seeking a dedicated Research Assistant to contribute to the goals of our Epilepsy Research groups.You will be part of cutting-edge clinical trials funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF), working towards a better understanding of the disease, discovering novel treatments, and preventing premature mortality in epilepsy.Key Responsibilities Conduct high-standard clinical research, including the development of SOPs, risk assessments, and safe work instructions.Optimize patient recruitment for neurological clinical trials and achieve recruitment targets.Assist in experiments, clinical data collection, and analysis, and prepare results and reports.Create and maintain research databases, manage data entry, and coordinate data sharing requests.Stay updated on developments and protocols in your area of expertise through liaison with peers, reading relevant literature, and attending meetings and seminars.Schedule and monitor patient recruitment, manage Human Research Ethics Committees (HREC) submissions, and liaise with the Alfred Health Human Research Ethics Committee.Coordinate current and future clinical trials with Principal Investigators and sub-Investigators.Ensure informed consent and maintain high ethical standards in research, following Good Clinical Research Practice Guidelines.Participate in Quality Management activities and maintain a safe work environment by reporting any incidents of unsafe practices.Conduct research under limited supervision and contribute to conference and seminar papers and publications.Key Selection Criteria Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent qualifications; or an honours degree in a relevant discipline or clinical trials experience in a neurology setting.Experience working with a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and scientists.Ability to solve complex problems using discretion, innovation, and diagnostic skills.Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Awareness of the principles of confidentiality, privacy, and information handling.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and university-specific software programs, with a willingness to learn new packages.Proficiency in REDCap is highly regarded.If you're ready to make a significant impact in epilepsy research and join a motivated team dedicated to improving patient outcomes, apply now to become a part of our innovative research team!About Monash UniversityAt Monash, work feels different.There's a sense of belonging, from contributing to something groundbreaking – a place where great things happen.We value difference and diversity, and welcome and celebrate everyone's contributions, lived experience and expertise.That's why we champion an inclusive and respectful workplace culture where everyone is supported to succeed.Together with our commitment to academic freedom, you will have access to quality research facilities, infrastructure, world class teaching spaces, and international collaboration opportunities.Learn more about Monash.Be part of our story.Work with us to #ChangeIt.Monash supports flexible and hybrid working arrangements.We have a range of policies in place enabling staff to combine work and personal commitments.This includes supporting parents.To Apply
