Salary: Level 3, $79,156 - $84,977 per annum (pro-rata) (PSCA 2022)
This is a twelve (12) month fixed term, full-time position commencing ASAP with possible extension (12 months) The Goldfields Education Region supports the Department's priorities in Western Australia and commits to delivering, through schools and services, a full and engaging standard of public education supportive of students, teachers and parents.
The Goldfields Education Region comprises of 38 schools across a significant geographical area from Kalgoorlie/Boulder, north to Wiluna, east to Ngaanyatjarra Lands and south to Lake King including Esperance.
The Role The Research and Executive Support Officer provides administrative support to the Goldfields Director of Education, including coordination and preparation of correspondence, travel and accommodation arrangements and scheduling of appointments. They are required to liaise with internal and external clients including, Ministerial Services Unit (MSU), school and Regional Office staff, senior staff of other agencies, parents and members of the public on a diverse range of issues.
If successful, you will manage confidential and sensitive enquiries that require appropriate referral and timely responses. Within this role you will be required to conduct research and investigations, including background on school issues, internet research, and review of relevant professional journals, newspapers and media statements for issues of interest and importance.
