Advertised Vacancy Number: DOE895031This is a permanent full-time position commencing ASAPProfessional BenefitsWorking for the Department of Education attracts a range of attractive benefits including: 11 percent employer contributions to superannuationMore than 20 days of other leave, including sick leave and carers' leave The Role and our BranchThe Goldfields Regional Education Office is seeking to recruit a highly motivated and committed Research and Executive Support Officer.The successful applicant will provide administrative support to the Regional Executive Director, including coordination and preparation of correspondence, travel and accommodation arrangements and scheduling of appointments and editorial support in line with Departmental protocols and conventions.You will liaise with internal and external clients including, Ministerial Services Unit (MSU), school and Regional Office staff, senior staff of other agencies, parents and members of the public on a diverse range of issues, managing confidential and sensitive enquiries that require appropriate referral and timely responses.The successful applicant will manage administrative systems to support staff and to ensure the Regional Office operations are efficiently and effectively undertaken and provide timely reports accessing and collating information, assess priority, refer matters and follow up with central and Regional Office staff on behalf of the Regional Executive.You will conduct research and investigations, including background on school issues, internet research, and review of relevant professional journals, newspapers and media statements for issues of interest and importance.Provide financial administrative support to the Regional Executive and Coordinator Regional Services, including purchasing, payment of accounts, reconciliation of corporate credit card statements and arrangement of quotations and monitoring of travel and accommodation expenditure.The Goldfields Education Region supports the Department's priorities in Western Australia and commits to delivering, through schools and services, a full and engaging standard of public education supportive of students, teachers and parents.The Goldfields Education Region comprises of 38 schools across a significant geographical area from Kalgoorlie/Boulder, north to Wiluna, east to Ngaanyatjarra Lands and south to Lake King including Esperance.We encourage all applicants with diverse professional experiences to apply.Cultural DiversityThe Department is an equal opportunity employer and encourages people with disability, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and persons from culturally diverse backgrounds to apply.Your written application will be assessed against the following Selection Criteria: Demonstrated knowledge and considerable experience in the delivery of high level administration support services, including the ability to provide executive support to senior managers.Demonstrated sound oral and interpersonal skills, including the ability to liaise effectively with senior managers and internal and external clients on a wide range of issues.Demonstrated sound financial management skills with the ability to interpret, report and apply financial practices and procedures.Demonstrated sound written skills with the ability to prepare correspondence, minutes and briefing notes.Demonstrated sound research, conceptual, analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to use initiative to identify priorities and meet conflicting timelines.For a full outline of the role responsibilities and selection criteria, please refer to the JDF.It is recommended that you consider all information contained in the advertisement and any other related information before applying for the vacancy.All inquiries are welcomed
