Research and Development Process EngineerTRILITY is seeking an enthusiastic Water Industry Process Engineer to join our team based at Macarthur Water Filtration Plant on a full-time permanent basis.
The Role The Process Engineer supports the optimisation of filtration plant treatment processes including chemical consumption and sludge production, network disinfection and water quality to ensure consistently excellent overall customer experience. Employed by TRILITY, the Process Engineer will work alongside Sydney Water to optimise water treatment processes and troubleshoot issues that arise from time to time. The Process Engineer also works with TRILITY and Sydney Water's Research and Development teams to ensure that projects are delivered, and technological advancements are pursued resulting in benefits to customers.
Key responsibilities Technical support including commissioning of chemical dosing plants at Macarthur WFP and Sydney Water WFPs as required.Interface between TRILITY and Sydney Water regarding data management related to projects, network health and plant optimisation.Be an active member of projects and trials designed to futureproof Macarthur WFP throughput capabilities and treated water quality objectives.Transfer knowledge to Macarthur WFP staff on optimisation and plant trial outcomes.Troubleshoot process issues at Macarthur WFP and Sydney Water WFPs as required.Participate in working groups overseen by the R&D Management Committee, compile related reports and present findings to committee.Participate as appropriate with Science and Technology related fellowship initiatives.Coordinate and chair quarterly R&D Management Committee meetings and circulate minutes.Develop and maintain the R&D, S&T Program Plan, including budgeting and financial reporting.Participate in and contribute to Sydney Water Future Pipeline planning initiatives.Prepare the annual risk documents for Macarthur WFP (including briefing papers, process flow diagrams, register, summary report), review and update risk assessment actions in Sydney Water's risk database.Implement risk assessment and various debrief actions.Participate in Pilot Plant trials to determine treatment and network disinfection, DBPs and general performance improvement.Present optimisation initiatives in the form of presentations to Macarthur WFP and Sydney Water operational staff.Engage in annual University of Sydney Engineering Student Placement Scheme (MIPPS) as/where required.What we are looking for Degree level professional engineering qualifications or equivalentExperience in scheduling and administration of service/maintenance related workAbility to read and understand plans and drawingsAbility to liaise with customers and understand job requirementsHigh level of customer service commitmentStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to compile accurate written reportsWorking knowledge of financial management systems.Valid driver's license, good driving record and willingness to travel when necessaryWhy TRILITY?
