Full-time fixed term position for one yearWork with state-of-the-art wearables-based measurement of physical activity and sleep in the newly founded Mackenzie Research Wearables Hub at Charles Perkins CentreBase Salary starting from $86,511 + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThe University is seeking to employ an enthusiastic, talented, and passionate Research Administration Officer (HEO 5) to provide operational and administrative support to Charles Perkins Centre's Theme of Physical Activity, Exercise and Energy Expenditure, which is led by Professor Emmanuel Stamatakis. The position is located at Charles Perkins Centre, a leading multidisciplinary research institute of the University of Sydney.The incumbent will support the activities within the newly founded Mackenzie Research Wearables Hub at Charles Perkins Centre. They will also support the data collection and management of laboratory and free-living studies led by Prof Stamatakis' research group.This is an excellent opportunity for an outstanding Research Administration Officer to develop a strong career in health-related research and gain substantial experience and receive training on wearables-based measurement of physical activity and sleep.Your key responsibilities will be to:Provide research administrative support for the work area of the Chief Investigator and the Team.Provide administrative support to the Mackenzie Research Wearables Hub @CPC and the Chief Investigator's team, including but not limited to manuscript formatting and submissions, draft service agreements for external clients, preparation and dissemination of the team monthly newsletter, future staff/student onboarding, raise purchase orders, preparing agendas and taking minutes.Provide financial administrative support through the preparation of financial reports, monitoring and processing of expenditures and coordination of funding applications.Provide high-level administrative coordination in relation to diary, events, travel, and accommodation management for the work area.Administrative support in relation to grant management.Coordinate with research participants, schedule study appointments, and follow up attendance.Manage finance and accounts of research projects.Carry out literature searches, collect papers, code information, summarise literature, etc.Assist with the design, development, and documentation of research protocols.Conduct research activity, including participant recruitment, and data collection, as part of the research agenda.Coordinate and carry out qualitative and quantitative data collection in face-to-face settings or online.Organise meetings and other communal activities and events, and contribute to administrative work of the research group, ProPASS consortium, and other analogous projects.About youHonors degree with relevant experience in a related field, or degree in a related area and substantial experience as research assistant/officer.Proven administration experience working in a research-intensive environment.Ability to collect quantitative data from human participants.Ability to create high-quality graphics including but not limited to illustrations, infographics, charts, report layouts and posters, social media assets.Outstanding inter-personal skills and capacity to resolve challenging situations in the most professional manner.Proven organisation skills and ability to coordinate multiple projects and streams of activities.Experience in working on research projects, including expertise in applying research protocols.Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel, Word), and reporting on research findings.Knowledge of ethics submissions and grant applications.Possess strong attention to detail and a focus on quality when working with data.To keep our community safe, please be aware of our COVID safety precautions which form our conditions of entry for all staff, students and visitors coming to campus.Sponsorship / work rights for AustraliaPlease note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
