About This Opportunity Supported by the Minderoo Foundation, an exciting opportunity exists for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow or Research Fellow to join the world-class research team at Queensland Alliance for Environmental Health Sciences Centre (QAEHS).
A key QAEHS objective aims to measure plastics in complex biological media. We are therefore searching for scientists who have completed (or are nearing completion) a PhD in environmental chemistry, analytical chemistry, (eco)toxicology, or a related area, with experience in the research context. You will be able to demonstrate extensive experience in using different techniques to accurately identify particles in the nano-size range, possess a fundamental knowledge of how these techniques work and show a demonstrated aptitude to learning new technologies. 
This is a full-time, fixed-term position through to 30 June 2027. This opportunity is being offered at Academic Level A or B commensurate with the successful candidate's skills and experience. As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow (Level A), you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise and emerging research profile in your discipline and contribute to various service and engagement roles and activities within the Centre. As a research focused academic at Level A, you will be supported and guided by more senior academic research staff with the expectation of an increasing degree of autonomy over time.
As a Research Fellow (Level B), you will engage in research to further your expertise and growing research profile to achieve national recognition in your discipline. As a research focused academic at Level B, you will be responsible for efficiently managing service and engagement roles and activities and fulfilling the necessary requirements to contribute to the effective supervision of Honour and Higher Degree by Research students.

What We Can OfferThe greater benefits of joining the UQ community are broad: from being part of a Group of Eight university, to recognition of prior service with other Australian universities, up to 26 weeks of paid parental leave, 17.5% annual leave loading, flexible working arrangements including hybrid on site/WFH options and flexible start/finish times, and genuine career progression opportunities via the academic promotions process.
At Level A, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $77,324 – $102,945 plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $90,470 – $120,445 annually. 
At Level B, the full-time equivalent base salary will be in the range $108,201 - $128,201plus a generous super allowance of up to 17%. The total FTE package will be up to $126,595 - $149,996 annually. 
As this role is covered by an Enterprise Agreement, you will also receive regular remuneration increases in line with the Enterprise Agreement.
