About The Role
The Rescue Crew Officer works closely with both the Flight Crew members and Medical Team to ensure the safety of the rear cabin during flying operations.
The Rescue Crew Officer is also responsible for managing the safety of all personnel and equipment during winching operations.
The Rescue Crewman must be confident and competent operating in all aspects of winching including overland, overwater, vessel, and night.
As An RCO, Your Key Accountabilities Are To :
Management and safety of the rear cabin during flying operations.
Assist both the flight crew and medical crew during operational missions.
Ensure the Pilot is promptly advised on all matters affecting the safety, serviceability or effectiveness of the aircraft or the operation.
Carry out all duties and training in accordance with the LifeFlight Australia's Operations Manual.
Ensure all required Currency and Recency items are maintained.
Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Maintain all Rescue equipment in a serviceable condition.
Assist the medical team with equipment and patient handling on medical missions.
Undertake and support operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary.
Ensure the safety of all medical crew, and others, during winch operations.
About You
We are seeking individuals who are ready for their next challenge in the aviation environment. With excellent communication skills and a strong interest in teamwork, you'll be comfortable offering operational support, including administrative and other non-flight tasks.

Advanced First Aid (HLTAID014)
Advanced Resuscitation and Oxygen Therapy (HLTAID015)
CASA Aviation Class 2 Medical Certificate
Pass the LifeFlight RCO Functionality Assessment
Fully vaccinated
Eligible to hold a Working with Children (Blue Card)
Functionality Assessment
Successful applicants must pass the LifeFlight RCO Functionality Assessment before an offer will be extended. We will provide details on the timing and location of the assessment to those moving forward in the process.
