In your new role, you will play a critical role in managing financial compliance intricacies across the institution and its subsidiaries.
This role involves financial analysis, meticulous preparation and review of financial information and collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that the University's financial reporting and systems are maintained to the highest standard.
Your key responsibilities will be to: undertake BAS and GST analysis and reportingprepare monthly BAS returnsprepare quarterly contractor superannuation paymentprovide GST and FBT advice to the University communityfranking Credit Returns documentation to support each claimprovide tax project supportassist with developing tax training for staff (GST and FBT)support the University's annual year-end statutory reporting projectprovide assistance to the Manager, Reporting and Compliance in liaising with and answering audit queries that may arise from the Audit Office of New South Walescollaborate with cross-functional teams to collect relevant sustainability dataanalyse and interpret data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvementreview methodologies employed to produce the sustainability data and document the understanding for critical analysisassist in preparing accurate sustainability reports based on the collected informationengage with internal and external stakeholders to gather input on sustainability initiativesAbout you strong problem solving skills and the ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement, along with the ability to prioritise workload during busy periodsexcellent interpersonal, negotiation and influencing skills, including effective management of stakeholder relationships, commitment to ensure service excellencedemonstrated experience in prioritising your own and your team workload to meet competing and ad hoc demands.Education qualifications Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce, or related areaCertifications Qualified Chartered Accountant / Certified Practicing Accountant or in the process of completing.Sponsorship / work rights for Australia Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
