Create news stories for the ABCBase salary $81K to $90KThe Role From the vines of the Barossa to the opal fields of Coober Pedy, the North and West of South Australia is one of the largest and most diverse regions served by a regional ABC bureau.
Reporting to the Local Editor, News Reporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities to local and national audiences.
The ways to tell these stories are ever-evolving; it could be a live cross into TV with overlay you filmed yourself, an online story on Australia's most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package on PM, a short piece in a radio news bulletin you're presenting live or even an Instagram story.
The size of the team means you have support to pursue stories you're passionate about, but also ample opportunity to step up and take a lead on breaking stories in the area – of which there are plenty!
The Job Produce and present news bulletins, Q&As, interviews and packages across all platforms, including breaking stories.Write digital articles for the ABC News online, and create video content for broadcast, digital and social media platforms.Contribute to planning and commissioning processes to develop and distribute new content ideas to achieve strong reach and engagement with audiences.Identify and develop, in collaboration with colleagues, local content that can be shared with other content teams across the ABC on multiple platforms.About You You have accomplished editorial skills, with experience in crafting stories that set the next day's agenda.
