The RoleThe ABC's Western NSW team is looking for their next Reporter.
From NSW's largest indigenous populations, the culturally diverse communities of the region and the evolving challenges of country towns – you'll be on the road, reporting on news to the many platforms of the ABC.
Grab a map and look at all places from Dubbo to Bourke, Mudgee to Brewarrina, Coonabarabran to Lightning Ridge.
Across multiple indigenous nations, there's boundless stories to tell.
The JobReporters are vital in bringing the characters and stories of these communities to local and national audiences.
The ways to tell these stories are ever-evolving; it could be a live cross into TV with overlay you filmed yourself, an online story on Australia's most trusted news website, a carefully crafted radio package on PM, a short piece in a radio news bulletin you're presenting live or a long form Youtube video.
The size of the team means you have support to pursue stories you're passionate about, but also ample opportunity to step up and take a lead on breaking stories in the area – of which there are plenty!
The Role IncludesProducing accurate, concise and clear stories for radio, television, online and social media for local, state and national audiences.Presenting radio news bulletins, participate in Q&As, conduct interviews and create radio packages.Breaking news stories and creating compelling original content.About YouDo you have an endless curiosity about the people and places around you?

The right person for this role will be a journalist with good editorial skills, and experience with breaking news and generating original stories in a daily news environment.
