Role Overview
The General Manager (Divisional CEO), reporting to the Board, is responsible for delivering the operational strategy and driving growth for the business.
Key duties include managing ~65 staff across diverse functions, implementing e-commerce growth strategies, strengthening key brands, optimising operations, and ensuring effective execution of KPIs.
The role also involves collaborating with the Board and CFO on strategic initiatives and budget management, while providing regular updates and analysis to stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Daily hands-on management of the ~65 FTEs (7 direct reports) in the business, including Warehouse, Customer Service, Brand & Product, Marketing, Finance, Technology, Trade and Retail teams.
Develop and implement effective e-commerce growth strategies to identify and capture new customers / retain existing customers, in a competitive industry.
Maintain and further grow the businesses key brands - through new product identification and obtaining exclusive supply arrangements.
Oversee the operations of the company, identifying areas to streamline and generate efficiencies.
Develop and monitor key KPIs with a relentless focus on day-to-day execution, getting into the weeds of problem solving where needed.
Working with the board, develop and implement various strategies across the retail and trade arms of the business.
Engage with and provide ongoing reporting and ad hoc analysis to the business' board and major shareholder.
Working closely with the CFO, manage and deliver the annual budget of the business.
Candidate Profile
You have over 10 years of senior management experience leading successful B2C e-commerce businesses and possess a deep understanding of running a digital enterprise.
With proven P&L accountability and ownership, you demonstrate a proactive and results-driven approach to leadership.
Ideally, you bring experience in distribution and warehousing, with additional exposure to retail (in-store) operations.
Your expertise in these areas, combined with a forward-thinking attitude, positions you to excel in driving performance and delivering results in a competitive and fast-paced environment.
