Responsibilities Reporting to the Finance Manager, your role will be diverse and will include a mix of financial and management accounting responsibilities.
It is also an evolving business, and they will expand or change over time.
Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring insights are actionable and aligned with business goals.
Perform general ledger maintenance, accrual calculations, and reconciliations to support effective financial management.
Collaborate with business units to improve financial literacy, streamline processes, and implement efficiency initiatives.
Partner with stakeholders to analyse financial performance, identify variances, and develop solutions to enhance results.
Complete balance sheet reconciliations and maintain detailed work papers to support audits and reviews.
Review expenditure to ensure accurate classification, reporting, and compliance with policies.
Maintain and reconcile fixed asset registers, ensuring proper classification, capitalisation, and depreciation of assets.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to optimise financial and operational processes, including automation and digitisation initiatives.
Support the preparation of statutory accounts and consolidated financial statements.
Assist with audits, provide support to the finance team, and cover team members during planned or unplanned absences.
Contribute to cross-functional projects and initiatives to enhance overall organisational performance.
Candidate Profile You'll be a CA or CPA qualified Accountant (or close to completion).
You'll have an analytical mind and the ability to question, collaborate with the business and add value.
Applicants will be considered from an accounting firm or from commerce; the priority will be your willingness to learn and ability to integrate and learn a complex business smoothly.
