Reporting to the Team Leader Remuneration and Benefits you will assist in ensuring Council's payroll function is delivered in a timely and professional manner and that all legislative requirements are met.

Essential: Tertiary qualifications and/or extensive experience with a computerised payroll system.
High level and efficient data entry skills Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of employment legislation.
Previous experience working with confidential records and information.
Demonstrated ability to maintain high levels of accuracy when working to non-negotiable deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to apply confidentiality and ethical practice principles, and to act with probity at all times.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Attention to details and customer focused.
Legislative knowledge and understanding of compliance.
Desirable: Experience using Authority payroll system.
Ability to interpret statistical data and produce reports.
Knowledge of local Government State Award and ability to interpret it.
To meet Council's WHS requirements and in accordance with Council's Covid-19 Safety Plans, this position has been identified via risk assessment to be required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or provide evidence of an approved medical contraindication.
If a medical contraindication certificate is provided, it will be assessed against a risk assessment and the decision of whether Council accepts the medical contraindication certificate, will be based on operational needs.
