About this OpportunityAs a Remote Community Enrolled Nurse, you will be inspired to provide high quality, culturally appropriate nursing care for patients within a remote healthcare environment across both primary and emergency healthcare, under the direct supervision of a Remote Area Nurse.Specifically, you will: Provide afterhours emergency first response when required, which includes driving the RFDS SA/NT remote clinic ambulance and assisting the Remote Area Registered Nurse in the provision of emergency scene response and patient care – within the scope of Enrolled Nurse Practice.Interact with other members of the multidisciplinary Health Care Team to plan and evaluate patient/client care progress.Maintain accountability delivering remote healthcare within NMBA and own standards.Maintain accurate and legible records to enable ongoing safe patient care, documented in accordance with RFDS SA/NT and SA Health standards.About YouYou are: An experienced Enrolled Nurse with an adventurous spirit who enjoys making a positive difference to the health outcomes of individuals living in remote and rural communities.An excellent communicator who can easily relate to people from a diverse range of backgrounds and cultures.A highly organised individual with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritise.An enthusiastic and compassionate professional, who can remain calm and solve problems in complex situations.To be considered for the role you require: A minimum 2.5 years post graduate experience as an Enrolled Nurse.A minimum 6 months post graduate experience in a rural health facility which includes an accident and emergency department or 6 months post graduate experience in a primary care or correctional healthcare facility.Current registration with APHRA as an Enrolled nurse. Your current practising certificate is without notation 'Does not hold Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines. (Enrolled Nurses with this notation will be unable to be considered for this position).Basic Life Support and/or Intermediate Life Support, with evidence of enrolment in - or completion of - Advanced Life Support.Demonstrated ability to work independently, collaboratively and effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.A current and valid drivers licence, issued from an Australian state or territory.Experience with driving a manual 4WD vehicle.Our BenefitsAs part of our team, you can expect to be provided with challenging, interesting work in some of Australia's remote communities and be supported to achieve your best.
