About the Role
St Francis Xavier College is seeking to recruit a Coordinator of Religious Education to join our team. The Coordinator of Religious Education is a specialist and senior role and is key to embedding and building a vibrant Catholic culture in the College. The College is seeking a person who is committed to the vision of the College 'Living the truth, leading with courage, learning for life' who is invested in and who will promote the apostolic mission of the Church and of Catholic education. The successful applicant will be a practising Catholic and experienced educator, will have demonstrated successful experience as a teacher of Religious Education 7 -12 and who will possess initiative, integrity and vision.
The Religious Education Coordinator will provide expert advice and leadership in religious education curriculum and pedagogical practice and will through their role contribute to the development of an accessible and vibrant faith community in the College. As a member of the Curriculum Leadership team the Religious Education Coordinator reports to the Assistant Principal Learning and Teaching and to the Principal in realising the vision and mission of the College.

Demonstrate expertise in Catholic Education Religious Education Curriculum Years 7 -12 Develop teacher capacity and expertise in Catholic Education Religious Education Curriculum Years 7 -12 As a member of the Curriculum leadership team collaborate in the development of whole school and Faculty Agreed Practices in Curriculum design, assessment, reporting, and moderation. Lead the development of RE teacher capacity in whole school and Faculty Agreed Practices in Curriculum design, assessment, reporting, and moderation. Demonstrate pedagogical leadership in High Impact Teaching practice, supporting teachers to develop exemplary practice in developing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning programs Years 7 -12 Lead the formation of a culture of ongoing improvement, formation, and professional learning within the Religious Education Faculty which is consistent with whole school goals. Develop, facilitate, and promote Professional Learning opportunities to enhance the quality of teaching and learning, to improve student outcomes in Religious Education, and to build teacher capacity. Manage the Religious Education budget and resources. In collaboration with the Principal and Executive liaise with College partners including the local Parish to develop learning partnerships. Qualifications Must be a qualified Teacher with a minimum of five years' experience. Must have completed, be due to complete or a willingness to complete Accreditation D and E, according to the Accreditation to work, teach and lead in a Catholic School Polic y Selection Criteria A deep commitment to Catholic education and the promotion of the mission of the Catholic Church. A vision for the leadership of Religious Education that is contemporary, research based and accessible for students Year 7 -12. Demonstrated experience as a teacher of Religious Education Years 7 -12 with a deep knowledge of contemporary evidence-based practices in Religious Education. Excellent and demonstrated knowledge and understanding of professional practice in education, relevant legislation, initiatives, and current research in education.. Highly sophisticated written and verbal communication skills for a range of audiences. The ability to work collegially and collaboratively to plan and implement whole school goals and to effect change. The ability to implement CECG and College policy and strategic directions in Religious Education to improve student learning and wellbeing. The ability to form collaborative partnerships and relationships with staff, students, families and College partners. Provide a reference from a current Parish Priest. ACT Teacher Quality Institute (TQI) registration. ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
