Details of the offer

Key Responsibilities Include:

Apply broad problem-solving skills to overcome scientific, technical and logistical challenges.
Adhere to defined service quality standards, health and safety policies and standard operating procedures.
Participate in the identification, development and implementation of quality and service improvement activities in accordance with National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) and International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) accreditation/certification that enhance the delivery of pathology services.
Be willing and able to travel to any of Pathology Queensland's 36 laboratories for various time periods using your own private motor vehicle and flying in and out of Brisbane Airport.
Adapt to different work environments and teams on a regular basis.
Contribute to the development of scientific practices, procedures and protocols within the laboratories by actively engaging in activities that enhance the professional clinical standards and established principles/procedures.
Collect blood specimens from in-patients and out-patients, adhering to Pathology Queensland patient identification, collection, labelling, and processing policies.
Develop scientific knowledge and expertise by supporting active learning and professional development.
Provide training, educational support and operational and practical supervision to other staff within a district laboratory.
Effectively communicate within the local team and with internal and external Pathology Queensland clients.

Qualifications, Registrations and Other Requirements:

Appointment to this position requires proof of qualification. Certified copies of the required information must be provided to the appropriate supervisor/manager prior to the commencement of clinical duties.
The successful applicant must hold a relevant tertiary degree (or equivalent) qualification in Medical Laboratory Science.
This position requires the incumbent to undertake reasonable travel associated with Pathology Queensland's state-wide operations; you will be required to utilise your own private motor vehicle and hold an appropriate Queensland 'C' class license.
