Natural Resources & Water (Mining, Resources & Energy) Full time TRILITY is seeking a Relief Team Leader/Operator to join the Operations team. Use your skills in all facets of water treatment plant operations, getting to work on different plants and travel across Australia.
The role As a Relief Team Leader/Operator, you will be responsible for all facets of water or wastewater treatment operations, as directed by the client or the Water Quality Manager. This is a full-time role, two-year fixed-term position which requires significant travel within and between states, including regional and remote locations, ranging between 1 week up to 3 months.
You will lead a team working on water or wastewater treatment plants as delegated, which could change from time to time. This will involve coaching, mentoring, and performance management of your team while striving to deliver on the performance requirements of the contract and the Company's objectives. Participation in on-call duties includes attending plants on weekends and public holidays and responding to plant alarms during non-working hours.
You will ensure that treatment plants and projects perform to and achieve the required quantitative and qualitative standards set out by the client or contract. You will have a high sense of 'ownership' for the assets you control and will apply yourself to a broad range of tasks as shown below. Your duties will cover all aspects of plant operations and will extend to process control, laboratory testing, and maintenance of process equipment and other assets.
Key responsibilities Ensure TRILITY systems for Safety, Quality and Environment are used and that all activities undertaken comply with approved plans. Process control including ordering of chemicals and receiving deliveries, verifying documentation, and liaising with the client on demand and flow changes. Monitoring of plant performance including all process equipment and responding to plant and process alarms. Undertake maintenance activities (both planned and unplanned). Project management duties including liaising with suppliers and contractors, procurement of goods, materials and services, supervision of contractors, commissioning, risk assessments, etc. Conduct sampling and analysis and also liaise with external laboratory as required. Keep up to date records across all areas. Assist in the commissioning of new plants as necessary, including testing of plant equipment and verification of plant performance. What we are looking for At least 7 years experience in operation and maintenance of water or wastewater or similar facilities. Experience in a team leader or equivalent role. Familiarity in use of PCs and a range of software. A current Australian Driver's license. Certificate III or equivalent in water or wastewater operations. Willingness to travel regularly and spend extended periods away from home. Possess a high level of maturity, with the ability to make decisions with minimal direction and guidance. Possess sound judgement and problem solving in relation to operational issues. A reliable team member and be an effective communicator with good interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time. Able to work independently for long periods. Why TRILITY?
